The Secret to Success Starts With Your Daily Rituals
The secret to your success is found in your daily routine.
In 2020 I read a book called The Power of Habit from cover to cover...
In the book it revealed where habits are formed in the brain, and discussed how the human brain has evolved over time.
Habits are formed and stored primarily in the basal ganglia, at the base of the brain.
As the human brain has evolved over generations new layers have been added, such as the outer layer neo-cortex. Neo means "new."
The important point is that habits are at the core of the human brain, are central to human survival, and have been for many generations.
Habits highly influence the outcomes of our lives, for better or worse.
The good news is we have the ability to choose and influence our habits, before they begin to habitually influence us.
So my best advice for you as we begin 2021 is this: Don't bother with new years resolutions unless the resolutions you choose have a complementary daily habit component.
Because the most powerful way to change your life is by changing your daily habits.
Life happens one day at a time and success is achieved one step at a time, day by day.
Instead of random resolutions, create a select few powerful and specific new daily habits...
Then make sure you take action on the habits you choose every day.
This year I do not have a new years resolution list.
I have one powerful new daily habit I am cultivating...
The new daily habit I am creating is the daily habit of publishing a powerful new blog post on GarinKilpatrick.com every single day.
(Pro-tip: You can get to my site faster through my re-direct Garin.ca)
My goal is to publish a new blog post daily and share at least one powerful insight with you every single day.
Because greater richness of life starts with better daily rituals...
And I hope you'll join me for the ride.
Cheers,
Garin
P.S. If getting into better shape this year is one of your priorities I highly recommend the program 75 Hard…
Recently I interviewed my friend Frank about his experience doing 75 hard and we recorded a podcast called: 7 Powerful Lessons Learned From 75 Hard.
